Elation fits firm, that's the whole point because It's designed to stay put when your in the ocean doing what you love. Diving deap down, turtle rolling or duck diving, even when you get absolutely worked by a wave. It loosens slightly once you're wet, which is normal and means it's doing exactly what it should. If you prefer a looser fit, size up for sure.
