Why We Manufacture in Bali

At Elation, we’re committed to creating high-quality, sustainable swimwear—without overproducing or compromising on ethics. While some of our earlier collections were made in Australia, the required order sizes were much larger than we needed. As a brand that values sustainability, we never want to create more than necessary. That’s why we moved our production to Bali, where we can be hands-on and produce in small, thoughtful collections.

Bali is home to skilled tailors who take pride in their craft. By manufacturing here, we ensure:

✔️ Ethical & Fair Production – We work with small, family-run businesses that treat their workers with care and respect.
✔️ Less Waste, More Purpose – Small-batch production means we only create what we need, avoiding unnecessary waste.
✔️ A Hands-On Approach – Being close to our makers allows us to refine designs, ensure top-tier quality, and make adjustments in real time.

When you wear Elation, you’re not just wearing a swimsuit, you’re supporting slow, intentional fashion that values people and the planet. 

Why We Don’t Manufacture in China

A lot of brands turn to China for production because it’s cheap and scalable. But for us, that comes with too many compromises:

🚫 Mass Production & Waste – Chinese factories often require massive minimum orders, leading to overproduction and excess waste—exactly what we don’t want as a sustainable brand.
🚫 Less Transparency – Many large-scale factories lack clear insight into working conditions, wages, and sustainability practices. Ethical oversight is much harder.
🚫 Fast Fashion Mentality – Big suppliers prioritise speed and cost-cutting over craftsmanship, leading to lower-quality products with a shorter lifespan.

Instead of following the fast-fashion model, we choose intentional, ethical, and sustainable production in Bali. Every Elation piece is designed with care, made with purpose, and built to last🌊✨
