A self-described “baby beginner” in the world of surfing, she’s embraced the sea with open arms and a heart full of courage. We’re honoured to share her story, one that speaks to the spirit of Elation and the ever-growing community of ocean lovers around the world.
From the Boardroom to the Break
Originally from Australia, Clare has always felt a pull toward the coast. But it was when she moved to Bondi that her love for the ocean truly came alive. Life has taken her on a dynamic path, from corporate boardrooms to marathon start lines, but it’s in the water where she finds her daily joy.
“Every possible morning, I’m in the waves trying to improve my pop-up. It’s humbling, energising, and always a good time, even when I’m getting absolutely punished by the sea.”
The ocean has become Clare’s reset button. In the chaos of modern life, it grounds her with every wave, every wipeout, and every win.
A Defining Wave
Though she’s just a year into surfing, Clare's passion is undeniable. From the first paddle out, she was hooked, not just on the sport but on the energy, the challenge, and the way surfing shifts your perspective.
“It’s the hardest, most humbling thing I’ve ever done, yet also the most rewarding. Every session is a mix of frustration, tiny wins, and pure joy.”
A standout moment came during her first surf trip to Lombok in April 2024. The warm water, perfect waves, and welcoming energy made her feel instantly at home. Since then, she's been back again and again. She's already planning her fourth trip within a year.

Finding Joy in the Simple Things
For Clare, joy comes in many forms:
The thrill of catching a great wave after hours of being humbled
Traveling and soaking up new experiences
Quiet moments with loved ones, including her cat Loco, short for Love and Courage
These values aren’t just personal. They’re part of everything she brings into her world and part of what drew her to Elation.
