Why we chose to transition to Australian Made.

Why we chose to transition to Australian Made.
Having our eco-conscious swimwear made locally has been a huge goal from right back to the birth of Elation.
From the beginning, it has been our core belief to not only offer you a unique product that encourages a healthy ocean (being made from recycled fabrics including discarded fish nets), but to have a smaller supply chain to minimise our impact with carbon emissions.
Now that goal has come to fruition! We are excited to announce that our latest collection Oasis is proudly designed, made in studio in Sydney, and distributed from Australia!

Elation’s aim is to be Carbon Neutral by 2023.
Why is Australian Made important?
Australia is renowned for making some of the best products in the world as we have a high safety, labour, business, and quality standard. From having these strategies in place, we are offering products that are grown and manufactured ethically by local farmers and makers. Have solace in knowing that spending your money on local products are supporting well-crafted goods, safe workplaces, fair wages and high-quality materials and resources.
All collections and suits from Oasis onwards will be cut and made within a 150km radius from our office, giving us the opportunity to build a face-to-face relationship with our makers. A strong relationship is important to us to build a strong foundation for smooth communication and to ensure that all pieces that you own are lovingly made by our skilful creators to increase the products longevity.
When supporting and purchasing from Elation’s Australian made products, you’re encouraging a reduction in energy consumption used to transport products, which automatically decreases the release of greenhouse gas emissions. Since the transition to onshore manufacturing, we have been able to minimise our carbon footprint by working with makers within a smaller proximity to our office. We take public transport from Newcastle to Sydney for our sample fittings, production check-ins, quality control and design meetings. All our suits are cut and made on the same street, being just within doors from each other. Rather than waiting for samples and stock to be imported and exported to and from overseas suppliers, we can personally pick up our stock, say a hello and give a big thank you to our team and discuss the amazing job they have done.
We acknowledge that our lives have dramatically changed since COVID-19. Our transition to Australian Made has allowed for us to support and uplift Australian makers and our local economy. From creating work, we allow Australians to return to their previous jobs, provide new jobs for citizens to have an income so that they can support their family and friends by offering healthcare, education, nutrition, holidays, and social sporting memberships. By supporting local made, the more money that is spent locally within Australia can be circulated through tax payments to the government so they can spend more money on necessities like hospitals, sporting facilities and schools.
How to know whether a product is genuinely made in Australia?
Do your research and keep your eyes peeled for the trusted little green triangle with the yellow Kangaroo to know that the product is authentically Australian!
